Wow- what a month we had. Thinking of my final thoughts seems like a lot. Our time went fast, with some long days mixed in. That’s the way life is, right? I am so thankful we had the chance to have such an extended stay. Being able to be present and not thinking about packing up and leaving helped us to feel settled and not rushed.
The girls had a schooling experience unlike anything they could learn from books, we had a good mental check to remember and celebrate what a wide wonderful world God has created.

Our last week we had one final long trip. We drove 3.5 hours out of the city to Musanze. It’s an area known for Gorillas- though they are protected, and you have to pay big bucks to see them. While gorilla sighting wasn’t on our radar- the road out to this area was one of the windiest, but nicest roads we traveled for the trip. Our final 20 minutes out to the village was on dirt roads, and they were unlike the red dirt we were accustomed to. This was volcanic rock, as this area is also known for the 5 volcanoes surrounding us. We were already at 10,000 feet above sea level and the volcano peaks were far above the cloud line. Yowsers!

We visited our last chicken project in this area. It was a time of prayer, sharing and dancing. They gifted us with sugarcane at the end which was such a treat as the girls were hoping to try it while we were here.
Wednesday, our last full day- we went to the Peace House in the morning and heard further

stories of transformation from women who found acceptance at the Peace House. They left their lives of prostitution, and were so thankful to God for their new identity in Christ. During the time that their neighbors and family shunned them, and didn’t accept the truth that they had changed; the support at the Peace house was so valuable. Today, they can walk with their heads high knowing they are a new creation.
In the afternoon we packed up around the house and Jay delivered his coop.
Today, we wait. Our flight isn’t until 9:20pm tonight. We had a final visit with Adele, Charlotte and Assiel and had a yummy lunch out. Now, we wait.
Thank you all for following along with us, and your words of encouragement! God has been oh so faithful.
