Today had a slower, dare I say more agreeable pace. Much to the girls' joy (haha) we got some schoolwork in before and after our outing. We got to a food market, and as I type, Erin and the girls are taking a walk in the neighborhood while Jay runs an errand.

Our time at the Peace House was very rich. You may have heard me share about them before, but my dear friend Charlotte began praying about this ministry in 2010 and began it in 2012. They identify vulnerable women who are either selling their bodies, or otherwise desperate, and give them opportunity to learn the skill of sewing. As they teach them, they also disciple them in the hope of Jesus. They learn that they are loved by God, and they are valued. They gain hope. The women bravely shared their testimonies of lives radically changed thanks to the work of the Gospel and the opportunities at the Peace House. It was humbling and powerful to hear the stories of God's faithfulness in their lives, and their trust of Him.

My takeaway here was to remember and speak of the lifesaving power of the Gospel- that Jesus covers our sins which separate us from God- he gives us new life and we are born new in him. There is no one too far away from Jesus to seek forgiveness and come back to him. I considered how often thinking, "we've got this", or "we're all set" pushes us as far from him than any single sin. He wants us to receive forgiveness, to lean on HIS strength, - He has carried and loves these women, he has carried and loves me, and he loves and wants to carry you too.
